I was fascinated about motivational speakers. I loved to go to hear motivational speakers because I get really excited. It is almost riding a roller coaster.  They talk about cool things like new cars, big houses, traveling in motorhomes, luxury yachts and the big dreams.

A good motivational speaker will get you pumped up, they will get you motivated.  They should, that’s their job.  I have walked away from these motivational speakers ready to go tear up the world!

I just finished writing my eBook – 9 Steps to Successful Goal Setting and was wondering if I should try to sell it on Amazon or here on my blog. I think it was timely that I ran across this post by Jeff Bullas.  Jeff has pointed out a lot of great things on his post that would be very beneficial.

I plan to give my new eBook to listeners of my podcast Goal Getting – Don’t Just Set’em, Get’em – The Goal Getting Podcast at not cost, yes FREE.  Look for it to launch in early January.  And when you see it and send me your email, I will send you your Free Copy.

But I have to think. Do I want to sell it on Amazon.  That would be cool to be a published author.  It has been one of my goals. I should do what I can to achieve that goal.

  2. Relevance positions Your Brand as a trusted advisor – People look for those “Trusted Advisors” to provide relevant information that allows them to make educated decisions. When I was a Loan Officer, I wanted my customers and prospect to think of me as their “Trusted Advisor” in mortgage lending and real estate when they needed to get a new loan or refer someone they cared about.
  3. Relevance provides authenticity and believability. Being able to build trust will build loyalty. Providing relevant content shows that Your Brand is authentic and trustworthy, it makes what you say believable.  Customers buy from people they trust.

Halloween is coming up soon. I once went to a Halloween party dressed as a Cereal Killer.

I had the small boxes of cereal glued to some clothes. I stabbed plastic knives through the boxes and smeared red “blood” over them and the clothes. Everyone loved it. Sorry no pictures of it. That was before Smartphones.

Welcome Home! Oh, You Have To Move….

We had a great time on our Carnival Cruise vacation.

Then we got home and check the mail that was left for us.  Uh Oh! There was a letter from our landlord.  We have been renting our house since we moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in California almost four years ago.

Coming from Atlanta, Georgia, the housing prices are MUCH steeper and we really weren’t sure where we wanted to live.

That being said, we opened the letter from our landlord and were sadly informed we would have to move out in 60 Days!

We have thought about moving, and hadn’t been on a lease for about a year, but it still came as a shock.

We had been homeowners in Georgia, and not used to moving so frequently.  Of course we had been living here almost three years, but it still isn’t fun to be told you need to leave.

That is the trouble with Renting! You never know when the owner will push you out.

“Some will argue that email is dead and that other avenues are better. They feel like email shouldn’t get as much attention as other things, like Social media. Social media fads have come and gone (like Myspace), but one thing has never changed, they (social media) will always be asking for your email to register. Isn’t it amazing?

People will almost shoot you down about how Facebook trumps email marketing, and that email marketing is old school. Email can’t even touch the power of Facebook they say. Facebook is more hip and it’s where the money is at they say. I smile as I think about what it takes to even login into this powerful independent tool. Your email address.

Don’t get me wrong, social media can be a great way to get the message out. It’s just a cheap way to let people know that you exist, but it’s not the best way for traffic or introduction of your company. People would rather see what junior had for lunch than to buy your eBook for $9.99 on Facebook. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but it’s better to use the tool for what it’s made for and that’s to connect and remind.”
